Data Controller
NarrowView is operated by the app developer ("we", "us"). By creating an account you enter into an agreement with us for the provision of the NarrowView cloud sync service.

Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you register and use the app:
• Email address and name — used for authentication only.
• Moorings, cruise logs and route plans — synced to our servers so you can access them across devices.
• User-submitted notes — notes you submit about canal points are stored and reviewed by our admin team before being published to all users.

Purpose and Legal Basis
We process your personal data to provide the NarrowView cloud sync service. The legal basis under UK GDPR is contract — processing is necessary to deliver the service you have requested.

Data Retention
Your data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile > Delete account), which will permanently erase all your personal data and cloud-synced content from our servers.

User-Submitted Notes
Notes you submit about canal points are reviewed by our admin team before being published to other users. Notes may be approved, rejected, or deleted at our discretion.

Your Rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate data (update your name via your profile).
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — delete your account to erase all your data.
• Restrict or object to processing — contact us via the app.
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third parties. Approved notes you have submitted will be displayed to all app users attributed by your chosen display name only.
